Our summer visitors

I feel like this summer could be categorized into two distinctly different parts, BJ and AJ...before Jonah and after Jonah.  Before Jonah we were rarely home, out and about each morning, home for nap time, then off to the pool or some other fun summer activity.  After Jonah has been much different...home most of the time and occasionally getting out to overcome stir craziness.  Luckily for us, after Jonah has been filled with fun visitors to help keep us entertained, however we will see if any of them come back as our house has officially turned into a zoo:).

I previously posted about my parents and Grammy being here when Jonah was born, but here are a couple pics I took the day my mom left.

My mom has a thing for "life is good" shirts.  Her and the girls in their matching tee's!

The best we could get with my parents and their 4 grandkids!

A little more than a week later cousin Sara Q. and sisters Melissa and Emily came to stay.  Sara got in a night early and the next night we picked up Mel and Em from the airport and kept on driving west to Wendover, NV.  It's about a 1.5 hour drive from the airport and it's just a small gambling town.  We took all four kids, and as we walked through the casino to the buffet the kids were mesmerized.  "WOW, this is the coolest place we've EVER seen!" We stayed in a room that night at the casino, the kids swam in the jacuzzi tub and we took turns gambling and staying with them.  #parentsoftheyear was my hashtag as I documented the nights events on Instagram:).  It worked out well except that we went to bed SUPER late and Mady woke up SUPER early with a fever which was the beginning of the sickness that passed through each kid the rest of the week of Sara, Mel, and Em's stay.  Boo to that.

We did make it to the pool that week...

And us girls (and Jonah) got out for dinner and drinks one night...

but otherwise did lots of this...

and this while the kids recovered.  Fun times.  It was so good having them here though, hoping that it continues as a yearly tradition!

Next, we were graced by the presence of Johnny D.  I love that he has 'swung by' our place the last few summers during his summer travels.  The kids love him and it always fun hanging out with my bro.  The morning he came in, Mady, Jonah, and I took him to Bruges Waffles and Fritas (YUM!) and then waaaay out south to pick up Mady's uniforms.  This is the first year she will wear them so I had no idea of the utter chaos we were about to get into.  I quickly grabbed some necessities, and even Johnny supported UT Catholic Schools...one of the high schools is named Juan Diego and they had quite the stash of JD related clothing...I think he got some "initial" sweatpants and a hat:)

Finally, our BFF's Shelley and Justin came to visit and I finally got to meet baby Olivia!  They had their first baby back on April 6th (Sophie's birthday!) and I've been dying to cuddle that sweet baby.  She is the smiliest, most content little thing, we loved having her here!  I'm pretty sure Justin and Shelley are reconsidering thoughts on any more kids after staying with our 4 for 5 days, but I guess we'll see:-)

They were here on my birthday (32...ye-haw!) and Shelley, Justin, Olivia, Jonah, and I headed down to City Creek for some shopping and lunch at Nordstrom Cafe.  On our way home we picked up Mady from her 1st day of Kindergarten and then Shelley and I snuck off for pedicures.  The day ended with dinner at home and and drinks outside by the firepit after the kids went to bed.  Perfect birthday...I even got my first taste of Lululemon activewear from both York and Shelley, lucky me!

Birthday lunch and pedicures!

We also went for a hike one day with all the kiddos, it was fun and  I got to put  my new lulu's to good use;)

We love you guys, thanks for coming to stay!

Our final visitor was this past weekend, York's good friend Bryan came out for their annual fantasy football golf tourney and draft.  We are looking forward to seeing him and his wife Kristin and son Will in October when we head out their way for the UT/UCLA football game!

More Jonah pics...

I have SO MANY pictures of Jonah and the kids that I've been wanting to put on here but not enough time to actually sit down and do it.  It's been about a month since my last post, I figure I'd better get on it before I get too far behind...

I had Jonah on a Tuesday and came home that Friday.  As I said, I love my hospital stays, but of course there's no place like home.  Everyone adjusted really well and I just can say enough how blessed we are!

Jonah comes home!

Jonah at 1 week old

Sophie and Skye with their babies

Jack loves this baby.  He gets in trouble for hitting, biting, and pulling his sisters hair but is nothing but super sweet to his baby brother.

Movie night!

At his 2 week check up with Grandpa.  He weighed 7lbs 14oz

They all wanted to help give him his first bath!
