Mady's dance recital

Mady had her dance recital almost 2 weeks ago (seriously, where has this month gone??) on the 19th, at Layton High.  She had a blast and they were super cute on stage.  Funny, she loves the recitals so much after claiming all year that she doesn't like dance (she used the word "hate" more often than not) and would complain on dance days that she didn't want to go.  She did this last year too, but once she got to class she always had fun with her friends, and especially after the recital last year, she was ready to give it another go.  Just as I thought, she loved the recital again this year, and after seeing the group before her at rehearsal with their lion cub costumes on (they were dressed up as kitty cats and leopards--so cute) she says to me "Mom, I changed my mind, I want to keep doing dance."  Sorry babe, I fell for that last year and I'm done dragging the little ones out of bed to make it to class that you complain about ALL YEAR LONG:).  (Although, I must add, just like last year, I always looked forward to her class since I'm friends with the other moms and all the little sibs love playing together).  She has been cute singing her recital song and dancing around the house since it's been over, but I really don't think she'll miss it.  And, if she does, I'm happy to try again...just not next year.  Plus, she will be a busy girl in full day Kindergarten next year and I'll probably try to keep extra activities to a minimum.

She loved getting all dolled up and dancing on stage, it was a fun night for sure!

At rehearsal that morning.  She and 3 others came straight from their soccer game.
I must admit, I was pretty proud of how her hair turned out...that's usually not my strong suit:)
Waiting to get in the night of the recital
I couldn't stop taking her picture...such a beauty!
Waiting backstage to go on.
Getting ready to start!

Flowers from her biggest fans

She was so excited when they gave all the dancers their own makeup:)
