Jonah's first days

After 9 long months of waiting, we welcomed our sweet baby boy Jonah Jay Yates into the world at 7:58am on July 3, weighing 7 lbs 2 oz and 20.5" long.  I had my 4th c-section and after 2.5 weeks, I'm starting to feel normal again.  I am so thankful for my mom who was here helping for 2 full weeks and my dad and Grammy who drove out and stayed for almost a week and a half. They basically let me  hold Jonah 24/7 while recovering on the couch and did ALL of my day to day chores while caring for the other 3 kiddos as well.  I am SO lucky to have them!  My kids of course loved their time with KC Grandma and Grandpa and Grammy as they always do.  Since they've left we've been trying to get back into our normal routine (although we are home MUCH more) and I'm trying to figure out how to give each kid enough attention while caring for a newborn that I can't put down without worrying if he's safe from the hands of 3 kids that love him so much!

Jonah is SUCH a sweet, beautiful baby, I am really enjoying him and just how teeny tiny he is.  I love that he rarely cries but when he does the sound of my voice comforts him.  I love that he sleeps best snuggled in my arms.  I love that he takes a pacifier and hasn't had one "blow out" diaper yet:).  He's a great sleeper and eater, so far just the perfect babe, and on #4...how lucky is that?!

I really can't believe we have 4 kids!  Jonah is the perfect addition to our family, we can't get enough of him.  The kids constantly want to hold him and we are so proud of what great big siblings they have been.

Here are some pictures of Jonah's first days...
Seriously, isn't just AMAZING how you go from being pregnant one minute to holding a baby in your arms the next?

Proud big siblings!

Sweet, sweet baby

I love these people!

I may be the only person that actually ENJOYS my time in the hospital.  I seriously consider it a mini-vacay:)

My boys!

Mady came with daddy to the hospital to bring me and Jonah home.  I had to get a picture of her sweet digs.  That girls cracks me up!

And since Jonah was born on July 3, I was in the hospital over the 4th.  I was a little sad to miss out on all the fun activities but I also loved my quiet time in the hospital bonding with Jonah.  Here are a few pictures of what the kids did on the 4th of July!

precious baby! I'm right there with you on enjoying the hospital stay. I don't even mind the food, since food at our house got pretty bad the more pregnant and tired I got! :)
